HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer

My HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 used to print perfectly for both my 2020 iMac (USB-connected) and my 2023 MacBook Pro (wifi connected).

After an update in November 2023 on the iMac to MacOS Sonoma 14.1.2, PDF files sometimes (not always) print incorrectly as negativized (prints a black background with white lettering when the original document should print as black lettering on white paper).

The MacBook Pro has not yet been updated to Sonoma, it still has Ventura 13.5.1. The laptop still sends all PDF files to print as expected with no black/white reversal.

I have used the exact same PDF files on both computers, sending the jobs to print from each computer, and gotten the negativized version from the iMac, while the MacBook Pro print job comes out as it should with black letters on white paper.

Apple Tech Support did diagnostic troubleshooting today. The tech said my HP printer appears to need an updated driver or firmware from HP to bring the printer back to compatibility with the current MacOS 14.1.2.

Is an updated driver coming out soon? I need it pronto.
