Bought an HP cartridge off Amazon. The colour cartridge worked fine but have just opened the black one and it gives me an ink cartridge error and suggests I replace it. Under all the warranty info I can find this should be covered til the expiry date (Apr 2024). Of course it's nigh impossible to actually speak to anyone at HP to claim on this warranty, as they will only allow me to add the printer rather than the ink to my profile which is already out of warranty, and then ask me to pay to speak to someone. How on earth does anyone claim on the product warranty for an ink cartridge?

To understand the issue and help you, please share the details listed below:
- Exact model number/product number(SKU number) of your HP Product (Click here for information on how to find the model number/product number).
- Error messages (if any) on the unit.
- When was the last time your printer was working fine?
- Are you able to make a copy on the printer standalone?
- May I know to which device are you trying to connect your printer to eg: Windows PC, Mac, or Smartphone (Android or iPhone)?
Note: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

I don't think it's particularly to do with my printer. It's an HP Envy 4527, I had an old cartridge in there and it worked fine, I replaced it with a new black cartridge, and it wouldn't recognise it (the colour one which came in the same packet worked fine). I've now bought another new black cartridge and it's working perfectly. The problem is with the cartridge, which is covered apparently by the cartridge warranty and yet it is impossible to figure out how to claim on that warranty.

I see that there is an issue with one of the ink cartridges which is under warranty and may need replacement.
This issue might require one-on-one interaction to fix it.

As I've stated in the original post and in reply to your pm, there is no way to raise a support request for an ink cartridge, if your printer is out of warranty. There is a warranty on the cartridge, how do I claim on that?
