My original cartridge worked fine, I installed brand new HP 68 series and now it won’t print black ink. The machine sounds like it is printing but page is blank. I tried all the tricks and have “printed” lots of blank pages. The scanned test page only printed blue. Also when I could print the draft quality almost invisible, Why?

Hi @Realname2,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these troubleshooting steps:
Check Ink Cartridges
- Make sure you removed the protective tape from the new black ink cartridge.
- Reseat the cartridge: Remove it and reinsert it firmly.
- Ensure you are using genuine HP 68 series cartridges.
Run Printhead Cleaning
- On the printer's control panel, go to Settings → Printer Maintenance → Clean Printhead
- Run the cleaning 2-3 times if needed.
Print a Nozzle Check / Print Quality Report
- This will help determine if the black ink is completely clogged.
- If the black section is missing, cleaning is necessary.
Perform Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
- Wait for 3-5 minutes, then plug it back in and restart.
Update Firmware and Drivers
- Go to HP Support and check for firmware updates for your printer.
- Update the printer driver on your computer.
Use a Manual Cleaning Method (If Needed)
- If nothing works, the black ink nozzle may be clogged. Try this:
- Remove the black cartridge.
- Gently wipe the ink nozzle with a lint-free cloth dampened with warm water.
- Let it dry for a few minutes, then reinstall it.
- Run another printhead cleaning.
