Just set up deskjet 4300 along with the 9 months free printing with hp and the alignment pages printed fine In colour. Attempted to print black and white postage label and both came out blank and in colour it only prints a small portion of the label. Any help please?

Hi @Tomser22,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like there might be an issue with the print settings or the ink cartridges. Let's troubleshoot the problem step by step.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Ensure that the black ink cartridge has enough ink. If it's low or empty, replace it with a new one.

Print a Test Page:

  • Print a test page to check if the printer is able to produce black-and-white text. This will help determine if the issue is with the printer itself or specific to the postage label.

Check Print Settings:

  • Make sure that the print settings for your postage label are configured correctly. Verify that you have selected the black and white (grayscale) option if available.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. Visit the HP official website to download and install the latest drivers for your DeskJet 4300.

Clean Print Heads:

  • Use the printer's software or control panel to run a print head cleaning utility. This can help unclog any dried ink that might be blocking the nozzles.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Ensure that there are no paper jams in the printer. Even a small piece of paper stuck in the printer can cause printing issues.

Use Original HP Cartridges:

  • If you are using third-party or refilled cartridges, consider using original HP cartridges. Non-HP cartridges may not always work well with HP printers.

Adjust Print Quality Settings:

  • In the print settings, try adjusting the print quality to a higher setting. This may improve the printing of small details on the label.

Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Uninstall the printer software from your computer and reinstall it. This can resolve any software-related issues.

By going through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the issue with your HP DeskJet 4300 printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
