I have a new printer HP Deskjet 2800e on smart ink. It's been working fine until I changed the cartridges for the ones HP sent. Now black prints broken lines and whole lines and blocks of text completely missing. I've alligned, reinstalled, realligned the cartidges to no effect. I've cleaned the print heads to no effect. The bad prints are docs from my computer and also prints direct from the machine (like the alignment page). There are no error messages, the app seems to think both cartridges are full and everything's fine.

Update the firmware. Click here
If you have performed all the steps from this document and still not working, either the cartridges or the printer itself is faulty.
