My printed pages are very blurry or sometimes no ink at all on them. I have tried cleaning but no luck!

Hi @Jen2906,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for sharing the image. I can clearly see that the print quality is severely degraded: the page shows faint, broken vertical lines and missing text, which usually indicates ink delivery issues rather than a software problem.

Here’s how we can fix this:

Step 1: Check Ink Levels

  • Open the HP Smart app or your printer’s control panel.
  • Ensure both black and color cartridges have sufficient ink. Low ink can cause faded or blank prints.

Step 2: Perform a Deep Printhead Cleaning

  • In HP Smart, go to Printer Settings > Print Quality Tools.
  • Run Clean Printhead (do this up to 3 times if needed).
  • After each cleaning, print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page to check for improvement.

Step 3: Align the Printhead

  • Still in Print Quality Tools, select Align Printhead.
  • This ensures the nozzles are correctly calibrated for sharp prints.

Step 4: Inspect Cartridges

  • Remove the cartridges and gently wipe the copper contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Reinsert them firmly.

Step 5: Replace Cartridges if Needed

If cleaning and alignment don’t help, the printhead or cartridges may be clogged or expired. Replace with genuine HP cartridges for best results.
