After buying 2 new cartridges,  my printer was printing fine up until the black ink got half way. Now, the pages are coming out blank again. Ive cleaned everything (twice), I've aligned everything.  Ive taken them out and put them back in and it still won't print. Even the color is very faint and that cartridge is dang near full. What do I do besides throw this printer out the door?

Hi @Desb42,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that your HP printer is producing blank pages or very faint color, and cleaning/alignment did not help.

What to try:

  • Run a printhead/nozzle check to confirm which colors are missing.

  • If one color—especially black—is not printing, try targeted cleaning again from the printer tools.

  • If the printer has been sitting unused, the printhead may be clogged.

  • As a last-ditch effort, HP Latex guidance shows a manual printhead cleaning approach using:

    • a lint-free cloth

    • distilled water

    • gently cleaning/blotting the printhead

After reinstalling, the printer may run an alignment/check automatically. In the example, this restored the missing black output.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

The nozzles are not the problem. It prints just fine until the ink cartridges get to half full. Then it stops printing altogether.  I can put in a new cartridge and it will print again. Im wasting money using half a cartridge.
