Product: HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Trying to replace ink cartridges in my HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One-Printer encountered 'Non-HP Chip Detected' error message. How do I reverse apparent firmware update and/or resume printing with previously compatible ink cartridges?

This is some serious bullcrap.  Printer has been working great for quite some time, never had an issue with non-HP cartridges.  Then two days ago, just stops.  

 

HP, this needs to be a configurable setting.
