Welcome to the HP User Community.
The short answer:
Printer is built to use HP chipped ink cartridges.
Non-HP cartridges are not supported and cannot be used.
The printer is protected by Dynamic Security that prevents use of non-HP ink products.
All Firmware updates applied to the printer - from the first firmware installed when the printer was made - and all thereafter, enforce the Dynamic Security restrictions.

Shocking. Absolutely shocking that this is not made VERY CLEAR on the packaging of the printer when buying it. I cannot believe this is even legal. I will NEVER buy a HP product again and this one is going straight into the bin.
