I Have an officejet pro 9010, I have installed HP printer cartidges and the printer is not working and coming up with the error that I have non HP chip detected in  my cartridges. I replaced my cartridges fairly recently at £114 HP official cartridges from an official seller.

Please help me fix this because my printer is now useless and the alternative is that I replace with a NON HP product and never buy HP again.

Hi @TimF1970,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 is showing a “Non-HP chip detected” error even though you installed genuine HP cartridges. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Power reset the printer
With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Wait 60 seconds, then plug the cord directly into a wall outlet and turn it back on.

Remove and reseat the cartridges
Open the cartridge access door and remove all installed cartridges.
Reinsert each cartridge firmly until it clicks into place, then close the door.

Clean the cartridge contacts
Remove the cartridges again and gently wipe the copper-colored contacts with a dry, lint-free cloth.
Reinstall the cartridges once the contacts are clean and dry.

Check cartridge packaging and labeling
Confirm the cartridges match the correct cartridge numbers for the OfficeJet Pro 9010.
Make sure they are not refilled, altered, or previously used cartridges.

Test startup with one cartridge at a time
Remove all cartridges and insert only the black cartridge, then power the printer on.
Repeat with the color cartridge to check if one cartridge is triggering the error.

Check for Instant Ink or firmware restrictions
If the printer was previously enrolled in Instant Ink, Instant Ink cartridges will not work once the subscription ends.
Only standard HP cartridges (non-Instant Ink) will function after cancellation.

Restart and allow the printer to initialize fully
After installing cartridges, wait a few minutes for the printer to complete initialization.
Do not interrupt the process, as this can cause repeated chip detection errors.

I hope this helps.
