Hi @Nooberry,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 7720 is facing an issue with color printing on A3 paper while it works fine on A4.

Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the problem:

1. Printer Driver Settings

  • Check Print Settings: Make sure that the print settings are configured correctly for A3 printing.
    • Open the print dialog box in your application (e.g., Word, PDF viewer).
    • Select Printer Properties or Preferences.
    • In the settings, ensure that both the paper size is set to A3 and that color printing is enabled (not grayscale).

2. Firmware Update Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates via the HP Smart app or the HP website.

3. Paper Type Setting

  • Sometimes, the paper type setting (e.g., plain paper, photo paper) can affect the color output. Make sure the correct paper type is selected when printing on A3.

4. Application-Specific Settings

  • If you're printing from a specific application, check that it’s not overriding the printer settings. For example, in some applications, there could be a separate color printing option that needs to be enabled for A3 prints.

5. Print from a Different Program

  • Try printing an A3 color document from a different program (such as a PDF reader, Word, or a photo editing app) to see if the problem is related to the software you're using.

6. Test Different File Types

  • Attempt to print different file types (images, PDFs, etc.) to rule out any file-specific issues.

7. Perform a Color Calibration or Alignment

  • Run the alignment or calibration tool from the printer menu to ensure the printheads and color output are functioning properly.

8. Reset the Printer

  • Try resetting the printer by unplugging it for a minute and plugging it back in. This can sometimes clear any software glitches.
