My HP Smart Tank 6001 is not printing cyan. Upon inspection, it appears the cyan ink is not flowing through the print head. There is cyan in the ink tank and the lines appear to be full with no air bubbles

HI @ColtsMetalHead,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the Cyan Ink Flow Issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Perform a Printhead Cleaning:

  • Go to the printer’s control panel.
  • Navigate to Setup or Tools.
  • Select Maintenance or Printer Maintenance.
  • Choose Clean Printhead.

Repeat the cleaning process up to three times if necessary. This can help in dislodging any clogs that are obstructing the ink flow.

Printhead Alignment

Perform a Printhead Alignment:

  • Go to the printer’s control panel.
  • Navigate to Setup or Tools.
  • Select Maintenance or Printer Maintenance.
  • Choose Align Printhead.

Check the Ink Tubes

  1. Inspect the Ink Tubes:
    • Open the printer’s ink access door.
    • Ensure the ink tubes connected to the printhead are properly seated and have no kinks or blockages.

Manual Cleaning of Printhead

Manual Cleaning:

  • Carefully remove the printhead.
  • Use a lint-free cloth and distilled water to clean the area around the printhead and the nozzles.

Preventive Maintenance

  1. Ink Tank Maintenance:
    • Ensure the ink tank is securely closed and there are no leaks or obstructions.
    • Verify that the ink system is functioning correctly by performing a test print.

I hope this helps.
