HP DeskJet 4133e All-in-One Printer

Printer has ink, paper feeds through and indicates a document is printing, but page is blank.  If select a stored document, will print a document but not another.  On one document being a return shipping label, will print the warning (first page), indicates is printing but will not print the address with bar code and QR code page, 3rd page with a separate bar code will print.  This just started a few days ago and do not recall changing any setting on the printer setup.  Have delete and downloaded the drivers again. Same issue.  Any ideas or assistance would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you. Jay

Hi @JayCP57,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP DeskJet 4133e All-in-One Printer is feeding paper correctly, has ink, and can print some stored documents, but certain pages — especially those with barcodes, QR codes, or addresses — come out blank. I appreciate the details you've provided, and I’m happy to help.

Step 1: Perform a Hard Reset

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait for 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the printer and wall outlet.
  5. Turn the printer on if it doesn't power up automatically.

Test by printing a document. If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Step 2: Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

HP provides a free tool called HP Print and Scan Doctor that can automatically diagnose and fix common printer issues.

  1. Download the tool from: HP Print and Scan Doctor
  2. Run the tool and follow the on-screen instructions to detect and resolve printing issues.

Step 3: Check Ink Levels and Cartridges

  1. On the HP Smart App or Printer Control Panel, check the ink levels.
  2. If any ink cartridges show low or empty, replace them.
  3. Remove and reinstall the ink cartridges to ensure they are seated properly:
    • Open the cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to stop moving.
    • Gently remove each cartridge and inspect for damage or ink buildup.
    • Clean the copper contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water.
    • Reinstall the cartridges and close the access door.

Step 4: Verify Document Formatting Issues

Since your issue occurs selectively on certain documents (such as labels with barcodes and QR codes), it could be due to:

  1. Software Compatibility:
    • Try printing from a different application (e.g., Microsoft Edge, Adobe Acrobat).
  2. PDF/Browser Issues:
    • Save the document as a PDF and attempt printing again.
    • If you are printing directly from a browser, try clearing the cache or using a different browser.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
