My HP670 tank printer suddenly stopped to print red. I did a printer head clean, alignment, took out the printer head and cleaned (not that they were dirty) it, reinstalled the printer and did a factory reset but nothing worked. Please help!

Hi @Lize8,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Smart Tank 670 printer is not printing red despite thorough troubleshooting, here are additional steps to diagnose and resolve the issue.
Check Ink Levels
- Ensure the red (magenta) ink tank has sufficient ink and that there are no air bubbles or blockages in the ink supply system.
- Refill the ink tank if necessary, and ensure the ink tube is not pinched or blocked.
Perform a Manual Printhead Cleaning
- Even if you already cleaned the printhead, try a manual deep cleaning:
- Power off the printer.
- Remove the printhead.
- Gently clean the bottom (nozzles) with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
- Ensure no dried ink or debris is blocking the magenta nozzles.
Run a Nozzle Check
- Print a diagnostic page or nozzle check pattern:
- Use the printer control panel or the HP Smart app to print a test page.
- Inspect the magenta pattern for missing lines or streaks.
- If the magenta section is blank or incomplete, it indicates a printhead or ink flow issue.
Perform a "Second Level" Printhead Cleaning
- The printer typically offers more intensive cleaning cycles. Run these steps from the control panel or HP Smart app.
Inspect the Printhead Contacts
- Check the electrical contacts on the printhead and inside the printer for any damage, ink residue, or dirt.
- Use a soft, lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol to clean the contacts gently.
Check for Firmware Updates
- Outdated firmware may cause issues with ink or printhead recognition.
- Update your printer firmware via the HP Smart app or from the printer settings menu.
Test with Another Printhead (if available)
- If you have access to another compatible printhead, install it to confirm if the issue lies with the printhead or the printer itself.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
