hp envy 6052

Hey, I tried doing the cleaning cycle on my HP envy 6052, but the quality of the print was ass on the first clean cycle, and even worse after the second. I get no black ink and no cyan after the second run through even though there's ink. The test print however runs fine and the printer itself doesn't see any problems. How do I fix this?

@corruptedjasper, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Ink Quality Issues on HP Envy 6052!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It seems like your HP Envy 6052 printer is experiencing significant ink quality issues despite running multiple cleaning cycles. Here's a step-by-step guide to diagnosing and fixing the problem:

Check Ink Levels and Cartridge:

  • Make sure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and have sufficient ink. Sometimes, issues arise if the cartridges are incorrectly seated.
  • Ensure that the cartridges are genuine HP products, as third-party cartridges can sometimes cause problems.

Perform a Manual Printhead Cleaning:

  • Manual Cleaning: Turn off the printer and unplug it. Open the printer to access the printhead. Using a lint-free cloth and distilled water, gently clean the printhead contacts and surrounding areas. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
  • Instructions: Soak the cloth with distilled water, wipe around the printhead, and gently blot the printhead with the wet cloth.

Run a Printhead Alignment:

  • After manually cleaning the printhead, run the printhead alignment from the printer settings. This process ensures that the printheads are correctly aligned, which can improve print quality.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve hardware issues. Check if there's a firmware update available for your HP Envy 6052 and install it.

Use High-Quality Paper:

  • Ensure you are using high-quality paper compatible with your printer. Low-quality paper can sometimes lead to poor print results.

Perform Diagnostic Test Print:

  • Run a diagnostic test print to check if all nozzles are firing correctly. This can often help identify which specific colors or areas are problematic.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
