I have a Bluetooth HP Envy 5005. It is not printing. I have put in new ink and still nothing. The printer runs like it’s printing but nothing is on the paper.  Everything looks like it’s working.

Hi @Shermie1925

Welcome to the HP support community.

It sounds like you're facing an issue where your HP Envy 5005 is going through the motions of printing (the printer sounds like it's printing), but nothing is appearing on the paper. This could be caused by a few different things. Let's go through some troubleshooting steps to identify and fix the issue:

1. Check Ink Cartridges & Print Quality

  • Make sure the ink cartridges are installed properly: Double-check that the ink cartridges are seated securely and that there are no protective tapes or covers left on the cartridges.
  • Check for air bubbles or dried ink: Sometimes, ink cartridges may have dried ink or air bubbles, especially if they’ve been sitting unused for a while. Perform a printhead cleaning to clear any clogs.
    • To clean the printhead, go to Printer Settings in the HP Smart app or Control Panel, and find the option to clean or align the printhead.

Perform a Print Quality Diagnostic

  • Go to the printer’s settings menu and print a test page or diagnostic page.
  • This can help identify if the issue is with the printhead or the ink delivery system.

2. Check Printer Settings and Driver

  • Go to Device Manager on your computer, under Printers, and check for any warnings or issues. If there’s a problem, try uninstalling and reinstalling the printer driver from the HP Support website.

3. Check Print Queue and Paper Tray

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click on the HP Envy 5005 printer, and select See what's printing.
  • Cancel any stuck print jobs and try printing a new document.
  • Ensure the paper tray is properly loaded and the paper is not jammed or misaligned.

4. Check for Paper Feed Issues

  • If the printer is making noise but not printing, it could be an issue with the paper feed. Make sure the paper rollers aren’t clogged with dust or debris.
  • Try gently cleaning the paper feed rollers with a soft cloth if needed.

5. Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Unplug it from the power source and wait 30 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in and turn the printer on.

6. Test with Different Documents

  • Try printing a simple test page or a different document (such as a Word file or PDF).
  • If other documents print successfully, the issue might be with the specific file you were trying to print.

7. Check Bluetooth Connection

  • Go to Bluetooth settings on your computer or mobile device to ensure the printer is connected.
  • If needed, disconnect and reconnect the Bluetooth connection or try using Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth to eliminate connection issues.

8. Update Firmware, click here
