Hi  @Luera

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand that your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 is not printing correctly and you've noticed that the green status bar/top band on the printer display now appears gray. I'll be glad to help you with this.

To better understand the situation, could you kindly share a few details?

  • Is the printer powered on normally and showing any error messages on the display?
  • Does the issue occur when printing from all devices or only one computer/phone?
  • Are you able to make a copy directly from the printer?
  • Is the printer connected via USB, Wi-Fi, or Ethernet?

In the meantime, kindly try the following steps:

  1. Restart the printer:
    • Turn the printer off.
    • Disconnect the power cord from the printer and wall outlet.
    • Wait for 60 seconds.
    • Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer back on.
  2. Check the printer status:
    • Ensure there are no blinking lights or error messages on the printer display.
    • Verify that the printer is connected to your network if you are using Wi-Fi.
  3. Print a Printer Status Report:
    • From the printer control panel, navigate to Setup > Reports > Printer Status Report.
    • Let us know if the report prints successfully.
  4. Check ink levels:
    • Ensure all cartridges are genuine HP cartridges and have sufficient ink.
  5. Run the built-in Print Quality Diagnostic Report:
    • This can help determine whether the issue is related to the printer hardware or the computer connection.

I hope this helps.
