I no longer have the printer enrolled in the hp Instant Ink program. I have installed store purchased new hp ink cartridges, but the printer has frozen up and gives the error saying it is enrolled in the hp Instant Ink program which in checking my account it is not. I'm frustrated after trying to find a solution. Help anyone?

With all the information you are requesting I don't feel comfortable giving that access to you. Thank you anyway.

Thank you for your reply. I understand your concern about sharing personal details publicly.

Here are some basic steps you can try since your printer is showing as enrolled in Instant Ink even though your account shows otherwise:

  1. Restart the printer – Power it off completely, unplug it for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

  2. Check cartridge type – Ensure the cartridges installed are standard HP retail cartridges, not Instant Ink cartridges. Instant Ink cartridges will not work once the printer is unenrolled.

  3. Update printer firmware – Open the HP App on your computer or mobile device, add your printer, and check for any available firmware updates.

  4. Remove and reinstall cartridges – Take out the cartridges, clean the electrical contacts with a lint‑free cloth, and reinstall them firmly.

  5. Reset printer connection – In the HP App, remove the printer and then add it back again to refresh the account link.
