Officejet 7612

Printer started to show printerhead missing after unpluging it directly from the wall and without using the power button.

The printer was used 2 times.

Can someone give me some tips on how to solve the problem?

Never seen an equipament behaving like this... 😞

Hi @DPiedade

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering a printhead error on your HP Officejet 7612 printer after unplugging it before turning it off properly, you can try the following steps to resolve the issue.

  • Turn Off the Printer: First, make sure the printer is turned off by pressing the power button.
  • Unplug the Power Cord: Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer and wait for about 30 seconds.
  • Plug It Back In: Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn On the Printer: Press the power button to turn on the printer. The printer will go through its startup process.
  • Check for Error Messages: If the printhead error message persists, check the printer's display or software on your computer for more specific error details.
  • Inspect the Printhead: Sometimes, the printhead may become dislodged during unplugging. Open the printer's top cover and carefully inspect the printhead to ensure it's properly seated in its carriage.
  • Clean the Printhead Contacts: If the printhead still doesn't work, you can try cleaning the electrical contacts on the printhead. Gently remove the printhead and wipe the contacts with a lint-free cloth or cotton swab dampened with distilled water. Make sure the contacts are dry before reinserting the printhead.
  • Replace Printhead: If cleaning the printhead contacts doesn't resolve the issue, it's possible that the printhead itself is damaged or needs to be replaced.
  • Update Firmware and Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest firmware and printer drivers installed. Sometimes, updating the printer's software can resolve compatibility issues and errors.

Remember to follow safety precautions while handling the printer and its components. Additionally, make sure to perform these steps in a clean and dust-free environment to prevent further printhead issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
