Hi, everybody!

 

A month ago we found two old cartridges. They were hidden in a shed for more than 10 years but when we installed it (after soaking with spirit) the first  worked perfect! But the second doesn't want. Printer is flashing green and refuses to work with it. Is there any opportunity to diagnose it ? Please help us

It's great that the first cartridge worked after soaking with spirit. For the second cartridge issue, you might want to try a few troubleshooting steps:

 

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Remove the cartridge from the printer.
  • Wipe the electrical contacts on the cartridge with a clean, lint-free cloth.
  • Reinstall the cartridge and see if the issue persists.

Check for Protective Tape:

  • Ensure that there's no protective tape left on the cartridge contacts or ink nozzles.

Printer Self-Test:

  • Perform a printer self-test to check if the printer can recognize the second cartridge.
    • Press and hold the Power button.
    • While holding the Power button, press the Resume button four times.
    • Release the Power button.
    • The self-test report should print, indicating whether the printer can detect the second cartridge.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that your printer drivers are up to date. You can check the HP website for the latest drivers for your HP DeskJet 3420.
