Microsoft Windows 11

Just purchased ONN Ink Cartridges 62 Black and Color.  The black works fine but the printer continuously rejects the color.  I did ll the trouble shooting suggested in the packaging and also all the suggestions from others in this forum.  Nothing works.  How do I get my money back or a color cartridge that actually works?

Hi @BManS2468,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer cartridges!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you are experiencing issues with an ONN 62 Color Ink Cartridge in your HP printer, it might be due to compatibility or quality issues with non-HP ink cartridges. HP printers are designed to work optimally with genuine HP ink cartridges, and using third-party cartridges can sometimes lead to problems such as rejection or printing errors.

Here are some steps to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the ink cartridge is compatible with your specific HP printer model. Non-HP cartridges might not always be compatible and can cause printer errors.

Inspect the Ink Cartridge:

  • Check for any damage or leaks.
  • Ensure the protective tape is removed from the cartridge contacts.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Carefully remove the ink cartridge and use a lint-free cloth to clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge and inside the printer.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the printer and wait for about 1 minute before plugging it back in.
  • Turn on the printer and reinstate the ink cartridge.

Update Printer Firmware:

Kindly refer to this link to update your printer firmware. Firmware updates can often resolve compatibility issues with non-HP ink cartridges.

Try a Genuine HP Cartridge: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, try using a genuine HP 62 Color Ink Cartridge. HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of non-HP ink supplies.

I hope this helps.
