My Office Jet 3830 began printing with smears and then the page went blank before a document finished printing.  My ink cartridge volume reading showed it getting low, but still had ink.  I tried to clean the heads and that did not work.  So I bought a new ink cartridge.

The new ink cartridge did not change anything.  All my pages still come out blank.

I have tried a 'hard reset' of the printer by unplugging from the back of the unit and the wall outlet.  Waiting a bit, then plugging things back in.  Only blank pages.

I removed the printer from my computer.  I deleted the drivers.  I then reloaded the printer drivers/software.  Still blank pages.

I have tried to print a test page with an internal command from the printer.  Only a blank page.

When I send something to print or when I attempt to clean cartridges, etc. -- the printer sounds like it is printing; however, the pages come out blank.

Any ideas?

My printer is out-of-warranty so HP will not provide support.
