Hi @Rowergirl,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error code 71.02.4A on an HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 indicates a problem with the printer's scanner mechanism. This error can occur due to a variety of reasons, such as a faulty scanner motor or scanner cable, or an obstruction in the scanner's path.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve this error.

  1. Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Check for any physical obstructions in the scanner path, such as paper or debris.
  3. Make sure the scanner cable is securely connected to the scanner and the control board.
  4. Remove the scanner glass and clean it thoroughly.
  5. Check for any signs of damage or wear on the scanner motor or other scanner components.
  6. Plug the printer back in and power it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have this same problem and there are several previous threads stating you need to do a reset. Can you please send instructions for reset. There is no number available anywhere to call about this.
