OfficeJet 250
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP OfficeJet 250 printer does not recognize or accept a new ink cartridge (62XL Color). I keep getting the message "Please remove and reinstall the indicated cartridge, making sure it is correctly installed."

I tried doing a hard reset of the printer, but the same problem/error message continues. I put in the old ink cartridge (62 Black) and the printer recognizes/accepts this. The 62XL cartridge is supposed to work with the OfficeJet 250 printer.

I have tried the suggested fix and does not work, have a second printer and swapped the ink cartridges and the problem moves to the other printer.

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

This seems to be a case of a defective new ink.

You could either return/replace it to the store/website you purchased it from or contact the HP Support Team regarding this.
