officejet250

I am beyond frustrated!  I own an officejet mobile 250 printer that cost well over $300.  It has only had light household use.  Recently, I got a cartridge error message.  I went to virtual assistant and went through all the steps.  Still not working.  Then I tried to use the virtual assistant so see if it could be a print head problem or something else.  I have spent over 2 hours trying to fix this **bleep** thing.  The black cartridge works just not the color one.  Also, on the virtual assistant, it is saying my serial number is not valid.  I have the correct serial number printed right on the print report.  You can't get a real person.  It is so frustrating.  I feel like once the sale is made HP doesn't give a **bleep** about loyal customers.  I have only ever had HP printers and after the experience with this one and the last one, I am really starting to think that I need to do something different.

I unplugged it, waited a few minutes and plugged it back in.  Then I cleaned the gold contacts with distilled water.  The cartridge is not expired.  I bought a brand new one only for it to not work.

Does anyone have any advice how to get a real person to help?

Hi @FrustratedRose,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing an issue with your printer that has an ink cartridge error.

A) Please follow the steps below to perform a power drain.

1) Take out the cartridges

2) Unplug the power cord from the printer & wall.

3) Press and hold the power button down for 15 seconds and release the power button, wait for about 30 seconds.

4) Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall, ensure the printer is plugged into the wall & not into a surge protector.

5) Insert the cartridges back into the printer.

Remove the cartridges > Unplug the power cord > Wait for 30 seconds > Plug the power cord back in > Insert the cartridges

B) Kindly refer to the steps on this link to update the printer firmware.

C) Refer to the steps on this link to further troubleshoot and let me know if that resolves the issue.

D) If the issue still persists, refer to the steps on this link to restore factory defaults.

Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day

Hi @Irwin6, I tried all of these things twice.  I went and spent 26.00 on a brand new cartridge and it still isn't working.  Is there anything else you can do to help me?  I have been a life long HP customer and I am really upset that this printer that his printed very little is having this problem.
