HP OfficeJet 8014e All-in-One Printer

Hi, we have an OfficeJet 8014e printer and the blue is no longer printing. I have cleaned the print head numerous times but has not made any difference. I have just installed new cartridges, but still no blue.

Please can you advise on any other options I can try?

@CVend, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet 8014e is not printing blue even after installing new cartridges and cleaning the printhead multiple times, try the following troubleshooting steps:

Verify the Ink Levels

>Even though the cartridges are new, check the estimated ink levels on the printer display or in the HP Smart app.

>If the cyan cartridge is low or empty, replace it.

Use an Original HP Cyan Cartridge

>Ensure you are using a genuine HP cartridge (HP 912, 912XL, 917XL).

>If using third-party or refilled cartridges, try replacing them with an original HP cartridge.

Perform a Second Deep Printhead Cleaning

>Sometimes multiple cleanings are needed.

>On the printer's touchscreen, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead and select the deepest cleaning level.

>Allow the cleaning cycle to complete and print a test page.

Run a Print Quality Report

>On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Reports > Print Quality Report.

>Check if cyan is missing or faded. If so, proceed with the next steps.

 Align the Printhead

>Misalignment can cause color issues.

>Go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead and follow the instructions.

Remove and Reinstall the Printhead (If Removable)

>If your model allows, remove the printhead carefully and clean the contacts with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.

>Let it dry, reinstall it, and check if cyan prints.

Try a Different Print Mode

>Sometimes print settings affect color output.

>When printing, go to Printer Properties > Paper Type/Quality, set it to "Best" quality, and check if blue appears.

Update Firmware

>Outdated firmware can cause print issues.

>Download and install the latest firmware from HP support website.

Perform a Hard Reset

>With the printer on, unplug the power cable from the printer and the wall outlet.

>Wait 2–3 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check for Printhead Damage

If none of the above works, the printhead may be clogged beyond recovery or defective.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
