I've used third party inkjet 932XL replacements since my printer warranty expired. In early November 2020, I purchased a set to have on hand. Yesterday, Feb 1, 2021, I ran out of ink. I've attempted to install the cartridges several times and keep getting an error message "Cartridge problem Remove and reinstall". I've read on several forums that an HP November 2020 firmware update might be blocking the use of 3rd party cartridges. Is there a way to roll back to the previous firmware on Mac OS, Big Sur Version 11.1.? If so, could someone send me a link to the previous firmware or help with another solution?
Thanks!

Hi,
You may confuse it with your older printer, HP 932 cartridges were used by older models such as the HP Officejet Pro 7610 printer.
The HP Officejet Pro 7740 printer always used HP 952 cartridges in the US, not any other cartridge number:

If you refer to HP 952 cartridges indeed and confuse its number, the printer is Dynamic Security enabled, so an update may prevent using a cartridge with Non-HP Chips and modified or non-HP electronic circuitry, a firmware cannot be rolled back and you would need to replace the ink cartridges, it can be genuine or replacement cartridges, as long as the cartridge include an original / not-modified HP chip:
