Hi @Andrew3999,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're still encountering the "Missing or Failed Printhead" error on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 after following the troubleshooting steps, here are some additional suggestions to try.

Check Printhead Installation:

  • Make sure the printhead is correctly seated in the printer. Remove it and reinstall it, ensuring it clicks into place securely.

Inspect Printhead Contacts:

  • Check the electrical contacts on the printhead and inside the printer for any debris or ink buildup. Clean them gently with a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab dipped in distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. You can check for updates through the printer's control panel or by visiting the HP website.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for about 60 seconds. Then plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset internal errors.

Try a Different Printhead:

  • If possible, test with a different printhead to determine if the issue lies with the printhead itself.

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are not empty or damaged. Try replacing them with new, genuine HP cartridges.

Factory Reset:

  • As a last resort, consider performing a factory reset on the printer. Be aware that this will erase all settings and preferences, so you'll need to set it up again afterward.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
