Well a new printer is not in the budget.

Yesterday I made a whole new set of cards (17 pages) with a light blue bar.

I printed them today. Using the 'Normal' setting put some lines on the pages. UGGGHH!!!!

It would print, hesitate, print some more. The line was about 1.5mm high and was about every 3.5-4 cm.

Could be a communication issue with the computer.

I did print one page at the Best setting (the wrap for the VHS case), it looked good. It printed without hesitating.

The issue is not resolved.

For an upcoming project I'll be adding a 15% white overlay on the cards. I did a test and it helped to see type on dark backgrounds.

Well, since a new printer isn't in the budget I went ahead and adjusted all 17 pages and printed the PDFs out.

The blue bar is close to the colour I wanted but the pictures are dull still.

In a post I can't find again (here or Reddit), it said that matte paper will make for dull pictures. And I thought I was doing OK by using a paper that was very bright (generic cardstock from Staples with no brightness rating listed).
