Officejet 6958
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, my officejet 6958 ran out of black ink. I replaced it with a 902XL HP cartridge and now it is not printing. I have gone through 3 of these cartridges. I also have aligned the print heads numerous times and gone all the way to third level cleaning of the print heads at least 3 times. I have done an unplug reboot and manually cleaned the heads. The cartridges were all vented properly. I can't do anything with black ink; copy or print from 2 different laptops. Color ink is not affected. I have done all of the suggestions in previous posts and have gotten no where. I also updated the printer during all of this. No changes and no black ink. Please help!

Hi @hedcoach,

If you have already performed the steps from the document Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile Name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.

Hope this helps!
