I have a HP Officejet printer that I purchased from BJ's around the 2018-2019 timeframe.

I have two packages of HP authentic 902XL cartridges that I purchased from BJ's subsequently as well, but now when I try to use them, it is now giving me the "cartridge is from an older generation" error.

I purchased these cartridge replacements legitimately for this printer.  Is there a way I can make them work, or at least receive a credit for them?

After you install an ink cartridge if you get an older generation cartridge please follow the steps below:

  • Please make sure you are using compatible HP cartridges.
  • Please update the printer firmware.
Sometimes updating the printer firmware helps. Please click here to update the printer firmware.
