Can someone get me the reset code for this printer? I saw in another thread that it worked for this issue. I have done all the steps but the C light is still blinking even with a brand new HP cartridge.

Hi @ateamaz1,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer !
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Cartridge Installation:
- Open the printer cover and make sure all ink cartridges are installed correctly.
- Press down gently on each cartridge to ensure it is seated properly.
Clean Cartridge Contacts:
- With the printer on, open the cartridge access door.
- Wait for the carriage to stop moving, then gently remove the cartridge.
- Clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and the contact points inside the printer with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
- Reinsert the cartridges and make sure they click into place.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn the printer on and disconnect the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the printer and the wall outlet and turn the printer back on.
Update Firmware:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Go to the HP Support website and download the latest firmware available for your printer model.
Replace the Cartridge:
- Even if you have a new cartridge, double-check that it is an authentic HP cartridge.
- Try another cartridge if possible, as the current one might be defective.
Unfortunately, there is no universal "reset code" that applies to all HP printers, and using undocumented reset codes could potentially harm your printer.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi Zoey,
I have already tried all that you suggested as this information is readily available. I saw in another thread that you responded to someone personally with a reset code. You said that you emailed them directly. So to tell me that there is no code and then let me guess the only next step would be to get a new printer is horrible customer service.

Thank you for the update. Certainly, I'll help you out.
The only option left is to perform an OOBE reset and re-initialize the printer.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer, and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I've sent you a private message with reset instructions. Follow the reset instructions to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Support Community profile, next to your profile name, or simply click on this link.
Let me know if this helps.
Please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?" Your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
