Hello everyone,

I moved from Brazil to the UK late 2018 and brought my OJ8600 with me. I have recently bought new cartridges for it, and found out there are regional restrictions for cartridges - my printer used to have Z30 cartridges (Latin America), and the new ones are Z20 (EMEA).

I've seen several other customers having the same issue here, and found out a procedure explaining how to perform a 'regionalisation reset', available here:

Tried to contact HP Support by phone in UK to get the reset codes (really important, as codes can never be reused and shall be provided by HP Support), but unfortunately I haven't succeeded yet. Is there a way to have this case escalated? I was able to access the unlocking screen and its data, so all I need is some HP representative to provide me with the right reset codes.

Thank you.

Fortunately I was contacted by an experienced HP support agent, who provided me the regional reset codes. Now my printer is working as expected. Thanks HP!

Dear @banhien good morning,

Thanks for your reply. I reached HP EMEA support and had a chat with Dave. He was not aware on how to perform the procedure, so he told me to bear with him and he would call ma back to finalise the procedure later that day. After several hours, I've got the following reply:

Dear Tulio,

I tried to contact you regarding your printer's regionalisation, however, my system wont let me complete a call to you.

Before I had one of my coworkers contact you I checked all requirements for your printers region and found out that due to your printer being an older model it is no longer possible to preform regionalisation in the United Kingdom.

At this stage I would advise purchasing a new printer and re-selling cartridges purchased.

Regards,

Dave, HP Support

Which sounded really frustrating. I'm taking my chances here, in an attempt to have some experienced HP support representative willing to help me. I have important documents to print, 4x brand new XL cartridges, and would appreciate if somebody from HP could help me on that.
