Hey there,
i have an x451dw ``mono`` here. This Printer is flashed with an special Firmware to only print in b\w. Now I have a Quality issue that when I print some red ink comes with out.
Is there a way to flash the normal x451dw firmware to it to clean the printhead with all colors? Cleaning it via the mono software doesnt show results.
Thanks in advance

As you have installed a 3rd party firmware, you might not be able to replace it. What you need to try is to download the firmware update file from support.hp.com. Use 7zip to extract the .FUL file from the firmware update utility and copy that file to a USB stick. Power off the printer, insert the stick in a USB slot on the printer and then power the printer on. The system should see that stick and offer the option to upgrade/downgrade firmware. This assumes that the 3rd party firmware you installed has not disabled the ability to change firmware.

Hey,
thank you for the quick reply.
The printer hasn't a 3rd party Firmware. The printer was flashed from HP to only allow to print in b/w.
Ive tryed your methode but I dont have a option to update the fw. Usb is enabeld and ive tryed few sticks.
Im wondering why when you search x451dw monochrom you get some options to buy one but you dont find any thing from hp.
Maybe you have some more ideas
Best Regards
