I changed the black ink cartridge and now printer won't run. I have an "Older Cartridge" message saying it won't work.  Since I just opened the package and have 2 of these unused cartridges, I would like to use them. How can I make them work in my printer?

I am having the same issue. I have an OfficeJetPro  6968.  The response you got makes no sense to me.  How did you resolve the issue? Thanks

HP OfficeJet Pro 8740 — Product #K7542A, Model 8740, [Personal Information Removed].

Replaced from HP three pack.

Says it’s an older model cartridge that is good for older printers but not this one.  Not sure why.  The prior cartridge was a 952 (no extra letters).  This is holding up ALL printing so the urgency is high.

In this case that reason message did not appear for me. I talked via the chat function at HP. They recommended that I use another cartridge which fortunately had. Inserted it and it worked

I understand your HP notebook hinge is separating from the unit, to fix this issue your computer needs to be repaired.
