I just replaced my ink cartridges with genuine HP supplies. I'm getting a "Older Generation Cartridge" error. Is there a fix for this? The ink cartridges I purchased match the required model (902XL) for my printer.

Quick update for the community. The semi-full reset did not resolve the issue. I continue to get the "Older Generation Cartridge" error which prevents me from using my supply of genuine HP cartridges. The next suggestion from the HP Support Agent (thank-you for responding) is to request one-on-one phone support. Unfortunately, this requires a support subscription plan.
Since I'm not willing to pay for support to fix something that HP broke by pushing a new firmware, I will instead retire this printer and look for one from another manufacturer. I understand HP's goal of making it more difficult to use non-genuine HP ink cartridges but this should not penalize customers who have existing supplies of genuine cartridges.

This did not solve the issue. Perhaps the instructions in the private message referenced in https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printer-Ink-Cartridges-Print-Quality/Older-generation-Cartridge-error/... can help. Can you share those instructions with me so that I can try?

@mar7ian
You might have to perform a semi-full reset on the printer to fix this issue.
The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.
I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.
I hope this helps resolve this issue completely.
