macOS 11.0 Big Sur

I've just tried to replace two 953 XL cartridges and both have returned an error message saying they're older generation cartridges and don't work with this printer. They're genuine HP cartridges, literally just out of the box, replacing identical cartridges to the ones that have just run out. I tried with another set of spare new cartridges and got the same message. I've followed all the troubleshooting guidance and still get the error message. So now we can't print anything at all. Help!

I understand you are not able to use the new replacement ink cartridges due to this error. Apologies for the inconvenience caused. To assist you better,

If this is a genuine HP ink cartridge, I would need some information related to the ink cartridges and the printer which cannot be shared on a public post for security reasons. I have sent you a private message, reply to the message with the required details.

Hi

Thanks for your response. I'm not sure if mine is a private response or not. The message reads: "Older Generation Cartridge. This cartridge is an older generation cartridge that does not work in your printer. It can still be used with some older printer models."

They are all genuine HP cartridges. The printer model is an OfficeJet Pro 8720.
