Having issue with printer with blue banners or borders and getting pink on the right had side. Red boarders are fine. All ink hs been changed out to new. Print heads cleaned multiple times. Print heads aligned multiple times. Still no change. Thought it was from not being used for a while and now that it has been used consistantly everyday for two weeks still no change. I have changed print quality and it cuts back a little on the pink but it is still there.

Hi @Isabowe,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand that you are having issues with the print quality.
The issue you're describing with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 — where you're getting blue banners with pink on the right-hand side despite cleaning and aligning the print heads — might be due to either a printhead issue, ink delivery problem, or a software setting. Here's a guide to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
1. Perform a Full Printhead Cleaning
- You've already done printhead cleanings, but sometimes doing a more intensive cleaning can help. This is especially true if the printer hasn't been used regularly.
- Go to your printer settings and perform the most thorough cleaning available (it may be labeled as Level 3 cleaning or Deep cleaning).
2. Check for Clogged or Dirty Printhead Nozzles
- Even though you've cleaned the printheads, there may be a stubborn clog or an ink residue buildup.
- Try manually cleaning the printhead:
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Open the printer and gently remove the printhead (refer to the manual for this step).
- Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water or a printhead cleaning solution to wipe the nozzles.
- Reinsert the printhead and restart the printer.
3. Check for Paper/Print Alignment Issues
- Misalignment in paper loading or print settings can sometimes cause color skew like the pink lines you're seeing.
- Recheck the paper size and type settings in the printer software (make sure they match the actual paper you're using).
- Perform a printhead alignment once again, especially after manual cleaning.
4. Try Printing a Diagnostic Page
- Printing a printer diagnostic page can help determine if the issue is hardware-based (printhead, ink cartridge) or software-based (driver or alignment issue).
- On the printer control panel, navigate to Setup > Reports > Print Quality Report. This will print a page that helps diagnose if there's a problem with any of the ink nozzles or color cartridges.
- Look at the alignment and clarity of the colors. If the blue or magenta ink is misfiring, this will be evident here.
5. Firmware Update
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes firmware issues can cause printing problems, especially if color alignment or quality is involved.
- You can check for updates by going to HP Support and searching for your printer model to download the latest firmware.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.

Hi @Isabowe ,
Please find the remaining steps below.
6. Check for Software Settings and Driver Updates
- Sometimes print quality issues arise from outdated drivers or incorrect printer settings.
- Ensure that you have the latest drivers installed for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 by visiting HP's website and downloading the newest drivers.
- Also, check your printer settings:
- Go to Devices and Printers on your computer.
- Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025 and select Printer Preferences.
- Make sure the color management settings are correct. If there's an option for HP ColorSmart, try toggling that setting to optimize the color profile.
7. Try a Different Print Quality Setting
- You mentioned adjusting the print quality setting, but I recommend trying both Draft and Best quality modes to see if there's any difference.
- Go to your print settings and change the quality to Best. This might slow down the print process but could improve the color issues.
8. Reset the Printer
- If nothing else works, try resetting your printer to factory settings. This might help clear out any misconfigurations or software glitches.
- Go to Setup > Restore Defaults on your printer's control panel and follow the prompts to reset the printer to its original settings.
9. Replace Printhead (Last Resort)
- If none of the above solutions resolve the issue, it might indicate a hardware failure in the printhead itself.
- HP OfficeJet Pro printers allow for printhead replacement, though this should be considered a last resort if the problem persists even after multiple cleanings and alignments.
Tips:
- Perform deep printhead cleaning.
- Manually clean the printhead.
- Verify paper alignment and settings.
- Print a diagnostic page to check color issues.
- Update firmware and drivers.
- Check printer software settings and use the best print quality.
- Reset the printer to factory defaults if necessary.
- Replace the printhead if the issue persists.
These steps should help resolve the color skew and border issues you're experiencing. Let me know how it goes.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
