HP Smart Tank 750 All-in-One
Microsoft Windows 11

I have a HP Smart Tank 750 printer, very newly purchased and sporadically used. I am seeing in the prints these days one of the color is missing. The tank levels of all colors are filled to the brim, I have tried all printer diagnostics and automated repairs but to no avail. I don't see an option to order/request home visit of technician. How best I can address this? Happy to hear from the community.

Hi @smilingpanda,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds frustrating to encounter this issue, especially with a new printer. Here are some steps you can take to try and address the missing color.

  • Check Ink Levels: Even though the tanks are filled, it's possible that the color experiencing issues might have a blockage or air bubble preventing the ink from flowing properly. Try gently removing the ink tank for the missing color and reinstalling it to ensure it's properly seated.
  • Clean Print Heads: Most printers have a utility for cleaning print heads. Run this utility to clean the print heads for the color that's missing. Sometimes dried ink or debris can clog the print heads, causing printing issues.
  • Manual Cleaning: If the automated cleaning doesn't work, you might need to manually clean the print heads. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this properly. You'll typically need cotton swabs and isopropyl alcohol.
  • Print Head Alignment: Check if your printer has an option for print head alignment. Misaligned print heads can also cause color discrepancies. Run the alignment process to ensure the print heads are properly aligned.
  • Use Genuine Ink: Ensure you're using genuine HP ink cartridges. While third-party cartridges might be cheaper, they can sometimes cause compatibility issues or poor print quality.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
