HP OfficeJet Pro 8020e All-in-One Printer

My PDFs only print in black and white. I have checked all settings and "grayscale only" has not been ticked. Is it an adobe problem or a HP problem?

Hi @ACOMO,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It could be a combination of settings both in Adobe Acrobat and the printer driver. Here are steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Adobe Acrobat Settings:

  1. Open the PDF document in Adobe Acrobat.
  2. Go to the "File" menu and select "Print."
  3. In the Print dialog box, make sure that the color option is set to "Auto" or "Color." Ensure that it's not set to "Black and White" or "Grayscale."

Printer Driver Settings:

  1. Open the Control Panel on your computer.
  2. Navigate to "Devices and Printers."
  3. Right-click on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8020e printer and select "Printing Preferences."
  4. Look for an option related to color or grayscale settings. Ensure that it is set to color printing.

Advanced Printer Settings:

  1. While in the "Printing Preferences" window, check for an "Advanced" or "Advanced Options" tab.
  2. Look for any settings related to color options or printing modes.
  3. Set the color mode to "Automatic" or "Color."

Adobe Acrobat Update:

Make sure that your Adobe Acrobat is up to date. Sometimes, printing issues can be resolved by updating the software.

Printer Driver Update:

Check if there are any updates available for your printer driver. Visit the HP website and download the latest driver for your printer model.

After making these adjustments, try printing a PDF again to see if the issue is resolved.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
