Printer error message popping up even with ink being replaced. Message reads:

There is a problem with the supply system. Try replacing the affected cartridge with a different, non-empty, artridge. If message reappears again, record.

Does anyone know how to rectify this issue?

Hi @HEEERE,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering an error message on your HP printer despite replacing the ink cartridge, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

  • Double-Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the new cartridge is properly installed. Open the printer cover and make sure the cartridge is securely in place. Additionally, check if there are any protective tapes or seals on the cartridge that need to be removed before installation.
  • Use Genuine HP Cartridges: Make sure you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Some printers may not work well with third-party or refilled cartridges.
  • Clean Contacts: The electrical contacts on both the cartridge and the printer should be clean. Turn off the printer and remove the cartridge. Wipe the contacts on the cartridge with a lint-free cloth. Also, clean the contacts inside the printer where the cartridge makes contact.
  • Restart the Printer: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve issues. Turn off the printer, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on. Check if the error message persists.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit the official HP website, locate your printer model, and download the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions provided by HP to update the firmware.
  • Perform a Printer Reset: Some printers have a reset option in the settings menu. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to perform a reset. This can often clear temporary issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
