I have done everything HP has suggested to fix the issue. My printer advised changing the Margenta Cartridge since it was low in ink. It was changed to a new cartridge but it keeps showing the same message. PROBLEM WITH THE SUPPLY SYSTEM TRY REPLACING THE AFFECTED CARTRIDGE. AND NOTHING !!!

Hi @DORIS58,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9018 All-In-One Printer shows a "Problem with the Supply System" message even after changing the cartridge, it can be frustrating.
Here are some steps to try to resolve the issue:
1. Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
2. Reinstall the Cartridge
- Open the printer’s access door and remove the magenta cartridge.
- Inspect the cartridge for any protective tape or residue that might be blocking the contacts.
- Reinsert the cartridge firmly until it clicks into place.
3. Clean the Cartridge Contacts
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Remove the magenta cartridge.
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and the corresponding contacts in the printer.
- Allow the contacts to dry completely before reinserting the cartridge.
4. Check for Firmware Updates Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Firmware updates can fix known issues and improve compatibility with ink cartridges.
- Check the HP support website for any available updates for your printer model and follow the instructions to install them.
5. Reset the Printer
- Sometimes a full reset can resolve cartridge recognition issues.
- With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- While holding down the power button, plug the power cord back into the printer and continue to hold the power button for another 10-15 seconds.
6. Check for Cartridge Authenticity
- Make sure you are using genuine HP cartridges. Third-party or refilled cartridges will not work correctly.
- Check the packaging and the cartridge itself for any signs of tampering or damage.
7. Inspect the Cartridge Slot
- Sometimes debris or paper fragments can get lodged in the cartridge slot.
- Inspect the slot for any obstructions and gently clean it if necessary.
