Occasionally, without any input and usually at night, the printer prints out 4 pages. this just started within the past few weeks and has happened 3 times. The pages read as follows in the upper left corner of each page:
(Page 1)
GET / HTTP/1.1
Host: pete3
Connection: close
(Page 2)
READ / HTTP/1.1
Host: (It shows my printers IP address here):9100
User-Agent: curl/7.59.0
Accept: */*
(Page 3)
Options * RTSP/1.0
CSeg: 1
User-Agent: curl 1/7.59.0
(Page 4 is the same as page 2)
READ / HTTP/1.1
Host: (It shows my printers IP address here):9100
User-Agent: curl/7.59.0
Accept: */*
Any idea what could cause this or what it means?

Showing host of Pete3. Any computer or printer on your network named Pete3? If not, you may have a security breach and someone else is sending a job to your printer. If you have wireless I suggest you change passwords and ensure that your network is secure with no manufacturer default passwords active.

The network is a home network, just my wife and I. and is hardwired. I, like you, think this is some type of security breach. It would seem that if I could change the printer's IP address all would be well. Whoever was sending these pages to my printer would no longer be able to do so, but I could not find any information on changing an IP address on the HP site.

The exact same thing has been happening to me for weeks now every Sunday night around the same time. I think that it's a little strange that it is happening to both of us. Did changing the password on your WiFI work?

See this document https://support.hp.com/ca-en/document/c03267980 the section on setting a manual IP address. Be advised that it might not only be the printer that is breached. I would suggest you change the admin password on your router as well and be sure that you have a password on the embedded web server of the printer.

I only have one printer in my network, this one. Using the screen on the printer it indicated that there was no password. I entered one and then went to the printer IP address in my browser and it did ask me for the new password before allowing me in.

I don't know if these changes will solve the problem. Since it randomly happens I will hive to wait to see if it returns. Today is 11/2/2020. I guess if it does not happen again for a few weeks I will log back in here and declare it gone!
Thanks to all for their suggestions.
