HP Envy Photo 7855
Microsoft Windows 11

I bought PPD Inkjet semi-gloss photo paper to print some pictures I took on. I have an HP Envy Photo 7855 printer. The paper says it's compatible and checking the HP specs page it said this type of paper was compatible. My Lightroom settings are fine too. For some reason my photos are printing washed out, dull, and extremely streaked. The ink is on the paper barely dry (I understand that it isn't fully dry on photo paper but this is much worse). I've tried cleaning the cartridges, aligning them, etc. multiple times. Can someone help?

Hi @Mallcheese,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Envy Photo 7855 printer is producing streaked and washed-out photos, there are a few things you can try to improve the print quality.

  • Check the ink levels: Low ink levels can cause streaks and faded colors. Check the ink levels in your cartridges and replace any that are running low.
  • Run a printhead cleaning cycle: Over time, printheads can become clogged with dried ink, which can cause streaks and other printing issues. You can usually run a cleaning cycle through your printer's software to help clear the printhead.
  • Use high-quality photo paper: Using low-quality or incompatible photo paper can result in poor print quality. Make sure you are using high-quality photo paper that is compatible with your printer.
  • Adjust print settings: Check your printer's print settings to make sure you are using the correct paper type and print quality settings for the type of photo you are printing.
  • Update printer firmware: Make sure your printer's firmware is up to date. Updates can often improve print quality and fix bugs that may be causing issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
