Product: HP Photosmart D7160 Printer
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Photosmart D7160 says new cartridges are out of date & switches off.  I have been told  I can over-ride this problem but HOW ?

It's not possible to override an expired ink cartridge.

Not possible. Those cartridges are no longer produced by HP and you will not be able to find them fresh. You can risk using non-genuine cartridges or replacing the printer with a new model.

Really?  The online shop I bought them from assured me the message can be over-ridden by following through a menu................are they lying ?    I'd appreciate your candour.
