Welcome to the HP support community.
Which operating system is installed on the computer to which this printer is connected?
Did you make a copy and check if that prints fine?
Reply with the requested information for more assistance.
Cheers.

I have the same problem with the same printer on Windows 10 64-bit. The printer was not used for couple of years. Then I bought the official hp cartridges and wanted to use the printer.
I have followed the proposed solution from Sandytechy20 posted on 02-28-2019 06:55 PM on the page and did everything as described: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Printing-Errors-or-Lights-Stuck-Print-Jobs/My-HP-Photosmart-C4680-alwa...
but unfortunately the shadows are still printed, which makes printed documents hardly readable. You can get a headache if you look at the page for a minute.
Is there a real solution for this or the printing cannot be fixed?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Aleksandar
