Hi @JRxyz,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is printing only black and pink colors while missing the other colors, it could indicate an issue with the color ink cartridges, printhead, or software settings. Here's how you can troubleshoot.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Open the HP Smart app or your printer's control panel to check if any of the color ink cartridges are low or empty (especially cyan, yellow, and magenta). If the cartridges are running low, replace them.

Clean the Printhead:

  • If the cartridges are fine, clean the printhead using the printer's built-in cleaning function. This can help clear any clogs or blockages that might be affecting color output.
    • Go to your printer settings via the control panel or the HP Smart app and look for a “Printhead Cleaning” option.

Reinstall or Reseat Cartridges:

  • Turn off the printer and remove all the cartridges. Inspect them for any leaks or damage.
  • Reseat them firmly and ensure that they are properly aligned.

Run a Printer Diagnostic Report:

  • Many HP printers allow you to print a diagnostic page or test page that shows each color printed separately. If cyan, yellow, or magenta is missing, it will appear on the report.
    • You can usually find this option under the maintenance or tools section of the printer’s menu.

Update Printer Firmware/Drivers:

  • Ensure your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. You can do this through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP website and searching for your printer model.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges:

  • Sometimes, third-party or refilled cartridges can cause printing issues. Make sure you're using genuine HP ink cartridges for optimal performance.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source, wait for about 60 seconds, and plug it back in. This can sometimes resolve minor software glitches.

Check Print Settings:

  • Make sure your print settings are not set to grayscale or black-and-white only. Go to your printer's preferences and set the output to color.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
