Three sets of ink cartridges and I'm still getting the worse prints ever.  I have no option under HP Smart for "Best" quality prints.  Is my printer jacked?

Hi @chellelhendrix,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing poor print quality with your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M182nw despite changing ink cartridges and not finding an option for "Best" quality prints in the HP Smart app, there are several troubleshooting steps you can try before determining if your printer is faulty:

  • Check Toner Levels: Ensure that your toner cartridges have sufficient toner. Sometimes, poor print quality can occur if the toner levels are low or unevenly distributed.
  • Clean Printer Components: Clean the printer's interior components, such as the toner cartridges and the printer's rollers, to remove any dust or debris that may be affecting print quality.
  • Adjust Print Settings: While you may not have a specific "Best" quality option, you can adjust print settings such as resolution and color settings to try to improve print quality.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer's firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can include improvements to print quality and performance.
  • Check Paper Quality: Ensure that you are using high-quality paper that is suitable for laser printers. Low-quality or incompatible paper can affect print quality.
  • Run Print Quality Diagnostic Tests: Many printers have built-in diagnostic tests that can help identify and troubleshoot print quality issues. Refer to your printer's user manual for instructions on how to run diagnostic tests.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
