HP ENVY 5540 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Envy 5540 has developed terrible print quality problems (striping and missing colours). This first became apparent on photo paper (from the photo tray) but has now spread to plain paper (main tray) and includes monochrome printing though photo paper from the photo tray produces the worst results.

No amount of cleaning or alignment has helped. Doesn't matter if I print wireless or cable-connected.

I have HP Instant Ink (it's only ever had genuine HP ink) and HP photo paper. The printing is still dreadful.
