HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer

I recently replaced all four ink cartridges for my Office Jet Pro 8025e series printer with genuine HP 910/910XL cartridges.  Print quality of first test page was smeared, fuzzy and nearly illegible.  I attempted to clean and align the printer head several times, as well as restart the printer.  The quality has remained extremely poor and have since received low ink warnings for the cyan and yellow cartridges due to excessive cleaning attempts

Hi @DanPic,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you've tried all the standard troubleshooting steps without much improvement. Here are a few additional steps you can take.

Check Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed. Remove and reinsert them to make sure they’re seated correctly.

Inspect Cartridges:

  • Check for any protective tape or packaging still on the cartridges that might be obstructing the ink flow.

Verify Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Confirm that the cartridges are indeed compatible with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e and that they are not counterfeit or expired.

Check the Printhead:

  • Make sure the printhead is properly seated. Sometimes, even a small misalignment can affect print quality.

Clean the Printhead:

  • Since you’ve already performed cleaning through the printer’s utility, try manually cleaning the printhead. Use a lint-free cloth and distilled water. Be gentle and avoid using any harsh chemicals.

Perform a Printhead Cleaning and Alignment:

  • Run the printhead cleaning utility again. After cleaning, align the printhead through the printer’s settings.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up-to-date. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve unexpected issues.

Use Printer Diagnostic Tools:

  • HP offers diagnostic tools that might help identify specific issues with the printer. You can access these through the HP Smart app or HP Support website.

Replace Ink Cartridges:

  • If you suspect the new cartridges might be faulty, try replacing them with a new set to see if that resolves the issue.

If you’re experiencing low ink warnings despite new cartridges, it could indicate a problem with the cartridges themselves or the printer’s sensors.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
